Closing the Bones Ritual

A traditional postpartum ceremony

Often carried out during the traditional 40‑day postpartum period, though it can be performed anytime—even years later—for healing after birth, miscarriage, hysterectomy, menopause, or other significant shifts

What it includes:

  • Gentle hip rocking using long woven cloths (rebozos) to realign pelvic joints

  • Abdominal massage with warm oils and rhythmic strokes to aid uterine involution and soften fascia

  • Sequential wrapping from head to feet, forming a cocoon for physical and energetic containment

  • Rest, reflection, herbal steam or foot soak, sometimes with guided meditation or energy work

Benefits:

  • Supports pelvic alignment, uterine shrinkage, circulation, core reintegration, and muscle tension release.

  • Offers a safe space for processing birth, releasing held emotions, and re-grounding post-expansion

  • Ceremony duration varies—usually 1.5 –2 hours.

Closing the Bones is a holistic ritual combining bodywork, ceremonial wrapping, rest, and emotional support. It helps people—most often postpartum mothers—reintegration physically, emotionally, and energetically after major life changes, rooting them in their bodies and communities once more.

Mother Blessing Ceremony

Celebrate the Journey into Motherhood with a Mother Blessing

A Mother Blessing is a sacred and nurturing ceremony that honours a woman as she prepares for birth and motherhood. Rooted in ancient traditions, this heart-centred gathering is a beautiful alternative to a baby shower—focusing not on gifts, but on surrounding the mother-to-be with love, encouragement, and emotional support.

Through shared stories, affirmations, rituals, and connection, the mother is uplifted and empowered by her closest circle—helping her feel grounded, strong, and deeply supported as she enters this transformative chapter.

Whether you’re planning your own blessing or organising one for someone special, a Mother Blessing is a meaningful way to celebrate the power of birth and the beauty of motherhood.

“I couldn’t recommend Angela more. As a couple wanting a fully natural birth outside the NHS, we knew we needed a birthkeeper, and Angela was the perfect guide. From 16 weeks pregnant, she supported us with meetings, resources, and calm, informed advice that helped us commit to freebirthing with confidence. Her Reiki session brought calm and relieved pregnancy aches, and her constant availability helped counter NHS pressure.”
Olivia Cox, Home Birth Experience

“I had four lovely Reiki sessions with Angela she was very professional and explained exactly what she would be doing. I am always a very stressed out person and found i gradually felt much less stressed after each session. During the sessions i felt completely at ease and completely relaxed and found the Reiki really helped me my partner actually said he thought i seemed much more patient over those weeks of having Reiki. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Angela to anyone. The sessions left me feeling so relaxed and calm.”

“Angela’s experience and knowledge were invaluable to us during our first pregnancy and home water birth. The expertise and information she shared made us feel we were making fully informed decisions every step of the way and gave us the confidence to plan the birth we wanted. She suggested a range of great resources, from reading material to birthing tools, that we would not have otherwise been aware of. It was great to have a consistent point of contact and her ongoing support became especially important as we were put under pressure to induce in the last few weeks of pregnancy.”
